Ryse: Son of Rome is a third-person action-adventure hack and slash video game developed by Crytek and published by Microsoft Studios. It was released on November 22, 2013 as a launch title for the Xbox One, and was released on October 10, 2014 for Microsoft Windows by Crytek and Deep Silver.

I was the level owner of the 7th Chapter
The Wrath of Nemesis. My work included:

  • Initial research into the area, story and gameplay possibilities
  • Creating and maintaining (level-) documentation
  • Blocking out gameplay areas
  • From whitebox to gold master:
    AI placement, mission scripting, event scripting, camera implementation, collision- and execution mark-up, dialog implementation, and adjusting pace or difficulty where needed.
  • Basic set / propdressing.
  • Iterating on internal and external feedback
  • Quality Assurance on my own work
  • Bugfixing
